Request Account and Data Deletion

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data associated with your TalkClips account will be permanently deleted:

• Account Information: Your email address, name, profile picture, and account credentials
• User Content: All videos you uploaded or recorded, audio recordings of your speech practice, and transcripts
• Language Preferences: Your native language and target language settings
• Practice History: All your practice sessions, AI evaluations, scores, and feedback history
• App Settings: All personalized app settings and preferences
• Usage Data: Information about how you used the Service, including features used and time spent
• Device Information: Device identifiers and device-specific settings associated with your account

What Data May Be Retained

Certain information may be retained for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes, even after account deletion:

• Transaction Records: Payment and subscription transaction records may be retained for financial record-keeping and tax compliance purposes, typically for a period of 7 years as required by law
• Legal Compliance: Information that we are legally required to retain, such as records related to fraud prevention, security incidents, or legal disputes
• Anonymized Data: Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be used to identify you may be retained for analytics and service improvement purposes
• Backup Systems: Data stored in backup systems may be retained until the backup is overwritten in the normal course of operations, typically within 30-90 days

Data Retention Period

After you submit a deletion request, we will process your request within 30 days. Once processed:

• Your account and most associated data will be permanently deleted immediately
• Data in backup systems will be deleted when backups are overwritten (typically within 30-90 days)
• Transaction records will be retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations
• Anonymized analytics data will be retained indefinitely but cannot be used to identify you

Third-Party Data

Please note that if you signed in using third-party authentication services (such as Google or Apple), you may need to separately manage your data with those providers. TalkClips does not control data stored by third-party authentication providers.

Additionally, if you made payments through our payment processor (Stripe), you may need to contact Stripe separately regarding any payment-related data they may retain. You can review Stripe's privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.

What Happens After Deletion

• You will no longer be able to access your account or any of your data
• All your videos, recordings, and practice history will be permanently removed
• You will not be able to recover any deleted data
• If you wish to use TalkClips again in the future, you will need to create a new account
